Tehran– Special Aide for Parliament Speaker for international affairs pointed to the importance of development of cooperation between Iran and Zimbabwe, underlining the implementation of all agreements signed between the two countries.
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in a meeting with Zimbabwean Ambassador to Tehran Nicholas Dlamini Kitikiti here on Tuesday said that expansion of friendly ties between the two states is important.
Amir-Abdollahian pointed to anti-colonialism fight background of the two countries and said that resistance of people and leaders of Iran and Zimbabwe against bullying powers became an important model for freedom fight in the world.
He added increase in parliamentary connections will play important role in development of mutual cooperation.
Amir-Abdollahian also underlined the need to follow up and implement all agreements signed between senior officials of the two countries.
Nicholas Dlamini Kitikiti, for his part, also underlined importance of expansion of friendly ties with Iran, and said senior officials of his country pay special attention to this issue.
He pointed to establishment of parliamentary friendship group between the two countries, and said that communication between the two parliaments play important role in development of political, economic and cultural relations as well as mutual cooperation in the regional and international organizations.
Kitikiti said that Zimbabwean people and leaders have resisted against excessive demands of the US and its allies, which by imposing different sanctions and pressures tried to harm the independence, security and territorial integrity of Zimbabwe.
He expressed the hope for increasing expansion of bilateral ties between Tehran and Harare.
