‘I just want to sing now’: Cricketer Henry Olonga auditions for The Voice – 16 years after a protest about the ‘death of democracy’ forced him to flee Zimbabwe and ended his career.

A retired cricket champion will audition for The Voice Australia on Monday night.

Henry Olonga, 42, was a regular member of the Zimbabwe national cricket team from 1998 to 2003.

In a teaser for his blind audition, Henry spoke about how one decision ended his sporting career 16 years ago.
